Trash to Treasure! {Mid-Century Modern Find}

A few days ago, after a long work day, I spotted this chair on the sidewalk as I was going into my apartment building. My husband was with me and witnessed my scream for joy when I saw it... I get very excited over such things! Ha. I have had a love for mid-century design for a while now and have been wanting to begin collecting more mid-century-type items, so this was PERFECT!

The chair was in pretty good shape when I found it. It had a little bit of rust on the chrome finish, but it was barely noticeable. I began searching for images of this chair and found TONS! I'm pretty sure mine is a replica, but it gives the same look! {And for much less!}

The original Diamond Chair was designed by Harry Bertoia in the 1950's.

Although the chrome finish didn't bother me, I did find it a little boring. I found several images of these chairs with the legs a different color than the seat and I FELL IN LOVE. I decided on black and white, because I feel like it's a safe choice that I can mix and match other colors with.

So... I pretty much love how it turned out! Do you? I am so glad that I swooped this baby up before anyone else! This might be my favorite "trash to treasure" makeover I've done yet!

I'd love to hear about {and see!} your favorite "trash to treasure" project! Leave a link with a comment below!
